Corn is Beautiful

I had no idea what I was going to blog about today. In fact, I think I had subconsciously decided not to, since I'm so swamped with college. Well, a link popped up in my Twitter feed today that caught my attention. The tweet was by Mike Howie, a great member of Twitter's farming community and a great generator of content. (I know I've retweeted him plenty, and have come to really appreciate his presence in my stream.)

The link itself led to a great blog post, which included sound files to audio recordings done in a corn field. It gave me goosebumps, since the sounds definitely reminded me of my childhood. Summer days used to be spent in the back yard, and the cornfield that borders that yard every other year in rotation with beans feels like it's played an integral part.
